Honda 2008 CBR1000RR, 1400 miles on the bike, Taylormade side pipe with carbon trim and Power Commander V dyno tuned by RC Performance in Laurenburg NC.

Not a scratch, original back tire with 3/4" chicken strips.

Bike sits at a Porche Dealer, wants 8500, will take a deal. If I can get it at $7000, it will be a deal don't know.

What is the most you will pay for this bike if your were a serious buyer?

7K wouldn't be a bad deal but certainly not a steal.

Some of the 08's had serious oil consumption issues.

Southern Honda was selling them new with a lifetime engine warranty for 7400. They now have used ones on the floor for over 8K. I just can't figure that...

Did my research, the 2008 CBR1000RR sure was a lemon. Clutch and uses oil like crazy. Class action against Honda. Not sure if anyone found the exact remedy for the oil issue, Honda won't talk about the issue.

Told them to try and sell it, if they can't come back and I'll give them $5,500 cash. Probably won't hear from them again.

The search continues.

Salvage title sure looks the way to go, one can almost buy three bikes cheaper than the price for one and rebuild. Problem is I don't have time, too much stuff going on.

Getting close, I have a GSXR1000 in my sights, but posted on the Gixxer forum and they say 750 much better for the track.

There is 11lbs difference between the two bikes, so besides horsepower they should be close? For a 1000 to ride like a 750 put it in C mode?

Decisions, decisions, decisions???? :banghead:
