Cycle

Will this work on a gen II? Is the bike fully unrestricted? When it's activated will my gear indicator still work?

To truly have a bike unrestricted, you will need to flash the ecu.

"The first one has about a million responses,"

...but for those of us who have neglected to visit often, what does this derestrict? Does it disable the top speed limiter without interfering with the speedo reading?

Anyone?

If this disables the TSL, does it connect to the sam wires that SpeedoHealer would connect to? Will it work with a SpeedoHealer v4?

I give up. If anyone knows what this thing does please PM me. Maybe I'll buy one if I can figure out what it is.

The Busa is limited to 185mph by the ECU limiting the engine RPM in 6th gear,, all the other gears will RPM to the redline but 6 does not.
Plugging this de-restrictor in the gear position sensor wiring and turning it on, makes the ECU think the bike is in 5th gear while actually it is in 6th, thus no more top speed limiter.

The speedometer is NOT affected by this part.

Thanks Flatland. I figured it probably was to bypass the Top speed limiter but I did not know the limiter was controlled by the gear and engine speed rather than the speed sensor. (glad to get this info, I have a SpeedoHealer that I was planning to use to bypass the TSL but I see that will not do it).

I suppose the gear indicator will only go 1-5 with the TSL deresrtrictor shown at the top of this thread. Can an aftermarket gear indicator such as a GIpro be installed if you want to see all 1-6 on the display?

Yup but 800 posts ain't nuthin. I am much more familiar with the ZX-14. I have over 8000 posts over at ninjaforums. Anyway, ..just asking questions about the thread somone else started. Might as well add to the collection of TSL derstriction.

I have a 08 Gen 2. Would the TSL derestrictor mentioned above fit on my bike along with a GIpro to show all gears 1-6 (I assume the derestrictor does not show 6 since it tricks the bike into thinking it is in 5 for 5th and 6th gears.).

Is the fuel mapping a concern ---I mean is 5th gear fuel mapping going to be as good for 6th gear as it is 5th? ..or do we need to tune for this derestrictor?

Does the TSL derestrictor shown at the top prevent 6 from being displayed on the stock gear shift indicator?

is 5th gear fuel mapping going to be as good for 6th gear as it is 5th?

Looks like a toggle switch in the derestrictor wire. CAn this be shut off and on by the switch (I can see no reason why anyone would shut it off except perhaps to get the full 1 2 3 4 5 6 on the gear shift indicator)?
