i'm at $225 a week for the family...it don't include dental or optical...$120 for my basic family HIGH DEDUCTABLE HC...$40 worth of aflac...and $65 a week going into my HC savings accout...to bridge my $3K/$6k high deductable HC plan...and a mere 15 years ago i usta get it all for $12 a week...100%...no deductable.

the insurance companies are growing and laughing all the way to the bank...and our fugged up government who thinks it's a wonderful thing to play host to 30 million ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS are a royal pack of azzholes...it's way past time to take our country back...whoops...to late.

could be a result of all the people that file fraudulent claims.. I mean if they only have X $$ a year to disperse, (and I know they have a figure) then they gotta meet that number or the pencil pushers have a heart attack along with the share holders...

Not giving the insurance guys a "pass" because their system is as flawed as the govt, but people ripping them off certainly does not help the issue..

insurance is bs. i was paying 700 a month for health insurance, when i went to the emergency room for a hobo spider bite, i had to cover it out of pocket.

Insurance Comp are great! Stop bashing them. Think about it. Just recently I got insurance! I use to pay $100 a visit for a check up at my doctors. Now that I have insurance I pay $65 a visit as well as paying $200 a month out of my pocket as well as my company paying $1000 a month on top of that. Also I use to pay $52 for my perscription. Now I only have to pay $50!! Without paying the $1200 a month I wouldn't get that $35 off my visit and $2 off my perscription!! Please fight any healthcare bill that might make things cheaper! We dont need socialism in this country. Let the free market be!

what insurance you purchase has a great bearing on what they pay or cover..

Catastrophic is useless for "just getting sick" and visiting the Dr.. But if you ever get really sick and end up in the hospital, it could just save your home when you get the $1000 a day bill...(minimum)

I have $10 copay, $10 Rx and no referrals needed for specialists.. I pay 40% of my premium and my employer pays balance.. still costs me $350 a month..

Also, "Out of pocket" is a term used to convey "how much" you must pay every year on specific charges.. (it includes your co-pay's etc)

This amount can run from $0 to maybe $10G for some policies, mine is $2000.. If I go into the hospital, I can plan on spending $2000 before my insurance covers 100% of charges.. otherwise they cover 80%
