Local riding: around 40mpg
Highway: around 46-48mpg
When out running to the mountains (100mph or so): 53mpg

See ya hafta go faster to the best mileage.

Took a ride with Valykrie (sp) riders, they thought 100mph was to slow. When we got to the first gas stop I was averaging 53mpg and we had only gone around 100 miles.. they needed gas at that point.

I always use 87 and have never had a problem. But octane levels don't have anything to do with mileage (if it did, that's what Suz would recommend) , your right wrist, type of ground your riding over and your riding type does

Octane levels mainly have to do with flame propergation and compression ratios relating to detonation levels

Seen 50 mpg once, it was 40 degrees and I was riding at 50 mph in 6th to cold to down shift (and did not care ) I don't know what the windchill factor was, I know it was COLD!  But usually get around 41 - 43 mpg
Wind chill at 50 mph and 40 F would be 26 F

, but of course that's not including any wind your riding into -- It can really get Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Wind speed at 45mph and outside temp of 40f.= 9f wind chill.

NOTE: wind speeds greater than 45 miles an hour have little additional effect on the Wind Chill Factor. The following formula can be used to determine Wind Chill Factors.

Wind Chill factor= ({(10.45 + (6.686112 x the sq. rt of wind speed) - (0.447041 x wind speed))/22.034} x (temperature-91.4))+91.4

At 9f. length of exposure before danger of frostbite exceeds 30 minutes. Have fun with that!

Went riding this weekend with a bunch of Harley's. My MPG went up from 32 to 41 on the 200 mile ride. Wow what riding slow can do!!!!

Actually, I get about 25% better mileage with 87 octane than with 91.
