02 or 08

I need some quick advice, I have my eye on an 02 black and blue busa that is very clean and the history is top notch. But I like the 08 busa and would give up my current bike for it. The 02 is selling for about 6500. The 02 would save me a lot of money, but the 08 is newer technology and better in the twisties. Oh hi to everone in the org. I have been lurking for months.

i agree! it will ultimately come down to money. do you want to pay 12k or 6k? the bike in general is a great machine with minimal problems. welcome to the org. and good luck with your purchase.

I will tell you that there is no comparison. The 08 Busa is the real deal. Forget everything that you have heard, the 08 is the shizznitz. If you can afford it, get the 08.

Do a search on the 08 re-design problems that some owners are haveing..should help you clarify your decision..

I haven't had a single problem with mine, got just over 4000 miles on her. Couldn't be happier. I like both but if you buy the 02 model you will be wishing you had gotten an 08.

I had an '05 and '06 and now an '08.

wish I still had the 2 previous ones also. I loved them all. If I had to choose though I would say the '08.

both bikes are great bikes.. if u can afford the 08 get the 08.. it is a hell of a bike.
i have a 02 black and blue and an 08 in the garage.

just did a back to back ride and the 08 would make me not wanna ride a stock gen1.

the bike is badass... good luck wit ur decision.

The '02 is a fine bike. You may have to deal with a starter motor issue but you can do that for less than $6,000, I'm sure.

Think of it this way: If you get the '02, you'll have another $6,000 for mods!

Having owned a pristine '00 and now an '08, I can definitely say get the '08 if you can afford it. It is by far a better machine. My brother just picked up a very nice '05 (10k miles) and after riding it, again I say get the '08 lol. Seriously, it's that good.

I'm stuck workin the weekend. Waitind on the yay or nay from the bank on Monday. I don'tsee the 02 posted anymore, he had a couple of people trying to get the money for it. I was thiking if I got the 02 I could keep my 750 (love that thing) It's just not as vesatile as I would like. I sure wish there was a good clean pic of the white 09.
