01 Busa worth?

I found a 2001 hayabusa for sale in the paper by me. It is bone stock and has only 500 miles on it. He wants 8000. I think that is way to high of a price. What do you guys think its worth? The other option is an 03 leftover AE for 9k. Its new and at a dealer. I was thiking of offering 7k for the 01 and if he doesnt go for it just get the 03 leftover. i have been looking for a while for a busa and sold my bike last weekind so now i am bikeless and craving a bike in the garage.

HOWEVER, that's what they expect considering normal mileage and good condition. For that year bike, they consider 24,000 miles to be average/expected. considering the fact that it only has 500 miles, that amount could shoot up from their value calculation. How much it could go up depends on what he's willing to take and how much you'd be willing to part with.

Personally I'd go with the 2003, assuming that since it's new and at a dealer you'd get the warranty (which I'd imagine you would).

that is correct i owud get the warranty. i talked to the guy and he doesnt seem to want to move much on the price of the 01. i am going to look at it thursday so we will see.

...I suggest you have a look at http://www.nadaguides.com !! They give you some tips on whats a good price for a used bike.

i think i am going to call my insurance co and see what the value is on a 01. if they tell me 6k i am not going for that deal. if something happens to the bike i am out 1 or 2k.
