I have my bike lowered 3" in th erear, and love the way it sits. The problem is on hard launches it bottoms out.. (I am 6 over and the tire smacks the tailight hard enough that I broke it off). I really want to keep the bike this low, but need to stop bottoming out. I have put 2 extra turns on the rear spring collar with little success.

Strut.

I really was trying to avoid the strut option. I was afraid of putting a stop on it< the stress involved (fearing cracks). Although< I could loer the bike another 1 1/2".

You need a stiffer spring. The 6 inches gives it more leverage to squat. Your size it making it even worse. The spring needs to be swapped and the shock revalved. There is not going to be enough rebound in the stocker to hold it down.

The modified one is on the top and the stocker is on the bottom!
