It's time to buy my dream bike. Anyone know of a gen 1 for sale? Only interested in 1999 0r 2000. Finder fee is up for grabs if I make a purchase.
Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the .org! Are you restricting yourself to the 1999/2000 models because of the unrestricted ECUs? See what I did? :D Is it the speedo? Any of the Gen1s are quite capable.
They are the originals, I've always loved them. I know that any Hayabusa is a very capable bike, but the simple idea of that unrestricted ecu is just... it's the bike I want to buy.

There should be a noticeable difference in price.
Although they are very similar bikes the 99 is highly collectable,
It’s literally the “first edition” of Busa’s.
I’d certainly pay more for a 99 than a 00.

An 01-07 is a better bike and easily derestricted but I agree, there’s something about have the original 99 that the better Busa’s just can’t have.
00, not so much.

You do know that you can flash the '02-'07 ecus to be unrestricted as well, right?
They have in tank fuel pumps and better starter gears, aka, less headaches.
If you want a 220mph speedometer, you can buy a used one, and Scotts Blue Guages can Legally correct the mileage to your bike.
All the Gen1's are capable of 194mph, perfect conditions, unrestricted.
But you'll need alot more hp to break 200mph, as 194mph is the gearing's limit, and you'll need more hp to pull taller gearing up to that speed.
A piped and tuned, regeared stock engine Gen2 can do about 204mph(unrestricted, flashed ecu), perfect conditions, no mirrors(drag).
The '99 copper is the 'it' Busa, with a higher price, the rest, they're just Busas.
Fairing and tank swaps are easily done as well(color change).
Absoloutely go after the bike that you want...just consider it from a money perspective, and what you're going to do with it...ride it, or park it in the living room.

welcome to the org

Lucky to own a 99 copper and silver Busa,
I've also got the complete Black and Grey inc Tank fairings and also the Blue and Silver complete fairings inc Tank just in case I want an outfit change for the old girl.
I wonder how much the complete set of Blue and Silver fairings are worth?

Me too. But I don't think you'll ever change from color.
What it’s worth? Whatever the fool is willing to pay.

There's a fellow in my area who has a '99 copper/silver bike that he bought new and still rides it.....

It is one of the few Hayabusas in the area...I believe there are three and are of each generation oddly enough....

I've spoken to him a few times and he just looks at it as another bike......one he likes and rides......he has no interest in it's worth or status amongst motorcycles......I kind of find that interesting as there has been a lot of hype built up around that particular bike as it is the iconic representation of the Hayabusa...

I still say Suzuki screwed up by not making it's color scheme the 25th anniversary edition instead of the orange one they did make for some strange reason........I've never equated orange with a Suzuki color......

Total respect to him, I too enjoy riding mine but there is always that slight fear of damage through dropping or accident but things should be enjoyed as our time here on this little spec of dust is not long at all.
Why did Suzuki paint the 25th Orange I have no idea I was going to buy one however had other expenses to deal with.
They should have consulted the Busa Fan base for the colour, even the latest matt green colour would have been better for the 25th as it's very different.

My ‘99 sits in hibernation this last year or so… I just enjoy my DL1000XT to ride now… I guess age is taking its toll now lol.
I don’t wanna go fast anymore, don’t want to attract police attention, and I don’t wanna have my knees around my ears anymore.
I love the torque of the Busa engine, but hey, the big V twin 1000cc has plenty of that too.
I’ll ride the Busa this summer coming a few times, but I may end up selling it if no longer riding it.. darn it.
I mean, if you’re riding at the speed limit on a Busa there’s just no point any longer.

Didn't you put a bar conversion on it for a more comfortable ride?.
