Just wondering, If you are forced by the law to sell your firearm to a "legal" state and you take a financial loss, will the state reimburse you for that loss? Will they at least be refunding the state sales tax that they charged you when you made the initial purchase? Let me guess ......... NO !!!!

lol.... I dont know what you guys are all up in arms about cause most shooting (even cop shootings) average 3-5 rounds being shot.

this law means nothing other then MAYBE might down the road help prevent a mass shooting of 10 ppl or so but since they are so rare this is simply a solution to a problem that doesnt exist....

I disagree with your 'reasoning'. Reminder to you. The nutcase will have a 30 round clip. You will have a '7' round clip. ??? Or in your case you will have nothing?

6 shots not enough?

All BS aside, I understand your fear of guns may keep you from owning a gun but why impede a law abiding citizen from owning a gun that can hold more than 7 rounds? ???

Maybe in 'Middle Earth'/Connecticut 'reasoning' is different? How about putting the kook away? How about publishing the names and home addresses on a interactive map of:
Sex offenders
Liberals
politicians
Drug users
Mentally disabled
Ex Cons
People on food stamps
People on welfare
Unemployed
Non Citizens
Illegal Aliens

yea but the whole point is over time less and less hi cap magazines will be available. the same would result if we outlawed guns but the problem is its gonna take a LONG time for that to happen. many decades actually! this is just a band-aid to our ever increasing gun problem in this country.

Wrong!.. Just that only the criminal and coo-koo's will have them to be able to commit these crimes, while us law-abiding citizens only have 7 rounds to defend ourselves against those criminals with 30 :banghead:

thats the same old lame argument we have debated for years and could for the next 1000 years and the same argument could be made for guns.

but if steps are not taken to REDUCE the number of bullets a gun can hold or simple banning them all together we will never see a change in out countries gun probelms which are some of the worst in the history of the world!

have you ever used your gun in self defense? do you know anyone who has ever used their gun in self defense other then what you have read on the internet? I doubt you do!

I work with over 500 cops on a daily basis and NONE of them have ever used their gun outside of work. never once in 17 years and a lot of them live in the city which sees the highest crime rate in all of new england.

and not to mention I have only only seen on a handful of occassions any criminal having anymore then the standard magazine capacity so criminals with 30 round magazines may be popular in the movies:whistle: but in the REAL world its utter BS cause they are simply too hard to carry around and would be seen easily be LE.

I would bet that the criminals know who is a cop and who is not before they kick the door in of a house.

agree to disagree

if you think that limiting capacities or banning guns will stop gun violence by criminals, i must say i do not understand your reasoning.

Chicago already has more gun homicides in 2013 than there have been days in 2013... How is that gonna change with these crazy gun control ideas?

So Brett as a cop if you've never encountered a thirty round mag why ban them?
Granted Newtown was done with one but that represents less than 1% of actual gun crime so again why ban an item you as a cop have never encountered in a crime?

so the part that really "grinds my gears" to steal a line from Peter G.

The gov and senators used very seldom used political laws to push this through and bypass the standard legal process of getting bills through the senate. To me, if you have to avoid the public's eye to pass something you certainly are working in the dark corner of legality and morality. Using a provision created to help stave off crisis situations to legislate my 2nd amendment rights away is crap. This is definitely a problem more for cities than rural areas and these cities are the ones that are helping push laws into places that do not want them. I wholeheartedly agree with one of the article points that this is simply the NY Gov political grandstanding and trying to steal thunder from the feds, likely in a hope to bolster his own presidential dreams.

I cannot wait until I can move out of this state.

Seriously guys... There's plenty of room down here. Milder winter, better riding, gun-loving state legislature, bass-boat-green Ninjas... What's not to love?

It's a statistical fact that violence in the UK far outweighs us here in the good old USA. So, are guns the problem...or something else? Why ban ANYTHING related to guns if, by the non-biased #'s, we are not the more violent people?!

On the "why everyone is so up in arms" is it's an direct destruction of the 2nd amendment. Once you open that door, you can never go back. Don't think of a high capacity ban as the tipping point....think of it more as a foot in the door. Eventually, it'll be long rifles. Then it'll be registration of all guns. Then ban of x gun. Then ban of all guns. It's steps in a greater process that is sometimes referred to as the slippery slope. It's called Tyranny.

I just want to make one very clear point: The USA does NOT have a violence problem. Statistically speaking, it's actually a very docile civilization.
