So What's Up With Bumper Stickers

Okay, I'm all about a good blast of well-aimed sarcasm, but I'm getting almost alarmed at most of the bumper stickers I've seen. They're getting down-right hateful and mean-spirited. Political ones - both liberal and conservative - are just angy and confrontational. Environmental ones all imply that if I'm not driving a hybrid and wearing organic hemp clothing - I am single-handedly killing the planet. And religious ones - well, for a supposedly Christian driver, these people are NOT showing Christ-like love.

Before I get blasted, Free Speech and expression is something I believe in very strongly, but I just don't get why people think is cool or funny to be mean or degrading or condescending to people, especially people they've never met.

BUT I did see this car about 3 weeks ago, funny a week earlier it was on a flatbed..

I'm really blaming all of society's ills on television lately. It's kind of ringing true in a lot of cases.

Those started out on livestock haulers trucks.. (have no idea what they are for either)... guess they jumped the "truck stop" barrier huh?

I think people do a lot of stuff now days just for the "shock" factor..

is it empowering? i dunno..... maybe trying to emulate Howard Stern? a new class of society? "Howies" ?

i think this situation is just like most of the rest of them in life- the vocal minority seems to be the norm until you realize they are just louder and more obnoxious, the majority of people are still good, caring, normal folks who feel the same way as you
