Hi Guys,

I confess, I don't own a 'Busa; I'm a ZX-14 rider. Hopefully, though, that won't stop you from giving me a little advice :please:

I'm going to be taking a trip with my wife. She'll be driving her car and I'll be riding my bike to our destination. We'll always be within a mile or so of each other while we travel. I need a good communications solution.

I wear a full-face helmet, usually with earplugs. The ideal solution would probably involve a pair of wireless headsets where at least one pair had noise cancellation.

What's the best thing you can suggest? I'm willing to pay a couple hundred bucks (but hope I don't have to!) for something that meets my requirements.

Thanks!

Definitely a Chatterbox for you, and I would suggest a Cobra FRS handheld. The Cobra is cheap and has great range.

Get the Chatterbox X1 and a GMRS radio and you can still talk up to 4 or 5 miles apart.

:ban: Ok, I'm kidding. Kinda.

Chatterbox is the way to go. I say get two of them and make the wife wear a helmet while she drives.

If she doesn't like that idea, then you could always get a Chatterbox model that has Bluetooth and just talk to her on a cellphone.

Oh yeah, :welcome: to the .oRg

Hang around and be converted!

Thanks guys for all the tips and the welcome, especially since I'm from the dark side

I don't think though the chatterbox system is what I want/need. From what I can understand from their website, you have to install speakers in your helmet. Well, I have a couple of different helmets so if I went with chatterbox I would have to stick with one helmet. Also, I need to block out the wind noise as well. If I have to listen to speakers I can't wear my earplugs...

In an ideal world, I would be able to find a headset with microphone that had an earbud for each ear (similar to Etymotic Research, Inc. - ER•6i Isolator Earphones) that blocks out the wind noise. Such a device would be linked (perhaps via bluetooth) to a handheld radio in my backpack...

Does anything like this exist or am I dreaming?

Our first trip will probably be a relatively short one - from here (Allen, TX) to Louisiana or the Texas hill country. This one will be a trial run for something more adventurous...like from here to the Grand Canyon. My wife loves to go places, but I hate being stuck in the car so this is an attempt an an amicable solution.
