im 10 over and i feel more comfertable taking a curve with my 1k then i did on my busa. No road racing for me, not after they passed a law here that if your caught street racing the city owns the rights to yourbike.. All track for me!!!!

I sold my Busa about a month ago, and I miss it a lot. I have an '09 HD Ultra and a Honda Interceptor, but I'd like to get another sport bike. I'm leaning towards another Busa.

Why do you like the GIXXER better than the Busa? I'm 6'3"/280 and I think the Busa is a little more comfortable than the GIXXER. I had heli-bars and Buell pegs on my Busa. I'm asking because I may take a closer look at a GIXXER, R1, or CBR1K before committing to another Busa. I don't race, drag knees, or wheelie. But I have been known to "tote the mail" every now and then just a touch above the legal limit. I loved the power!! I'm 46 years old, and insurance I've priced is cheaper on the Busa than a 1K.

Just curious about your thoughts.

Thanks

Man i will tell you this much the Busa is Much more comfortable then the GSXR1k, I have been putting it like this your going from a cadi to a Ferrari, the GSXR has tons of power and is lighter your a bigger dude and may not feel as comfortable on a 1k find a friend that has one a ride it to see what you think, ITs night and day diffrence...

He charges anywhere from 600 and up depending on what you want.
I stretched it because I do alot of drag racing and Syracuse has no twisties anywhere so It's pointless to have a good handling bike here :banghead:
And besides she still handles real good so I wouldn't be afraid of takin her around corners.

sweet bikes... a friend had an accident this morning on his 09... the blue/white 09... bike is trashed... he dislocated his shoulder and minor bumps... he was wearing helmet, and gloves... Not enough gear in my opinion.. Car got in front of him, he braked hard, and went down... He had just installed Akrapovic Dual Full system a couple weeks ago... OUCH!!!

I would love to have a 09 gixxer 1k. I want one so bad. I had ridden the 1k and know it is some bike. Probably that or the 10r is next to enter my stable.

I had an 05 1000 along with the 05 busa. From riding them back to back I'll tell you the gixxer is way fiercer from a performance standpoint. That being said, I'm 200 pounds there abouts, 43, use the bikes a lot to do real world tasks not just sportride, and I found the gixxer to be rather small and buzzy. Also, it's very lightness which is a performance plus can be a minus I found when trying to carry things (tiny "passenger" seat) or work on (love those seat screws, like a whopping 3 millimeters of meat around them in the frame, steady now....) In other words not durable. Apparently there was a recall on my year for uh...spontaneously BREAKING IN HALF....Luckily, I had already traded it for my hog by the time the stealer called me about the recall. I must say the bike was fine while I had it for 8000 miles, some wheelies etc. Moral is, if you're a somewhat bigger, somewhat older guy, and you like to carry stuff or passengers, stick to the busa. If all you want is for your eyeballs to hit the back of your skull on a regular basis, get the gixxer. You won't be dissapointed.

I see this quite often. Once you throw a leg over the gixxer1K it's hard to get excited about riding your busa. I enjoy my busa but I dearly love my gixxer1K. Everything the busa does well, the 1K does great!

However, your 1K has had some of it's supreme qualities handicapped with the long arm. :-(

I don't know. I've been on alot of 1K's, not comfortable at all. Hands fall asleep, back and azz kill. Fun if you like your front end in the air everywhere u go i guess. Beautiful bikes, just imo not practical, and not mod friendly. Especially after there stretched, loses all design performance aspects the bike was created for.

Actually stretched and lowered that gsxr is just as comfortable as my busa and I rode them both back to back all day today. Stock vs stock the busa is gonna be way more comfortable of course.

dunno, my busa pulls the old eyeballs to the back of the skull trick on a fairly regular basis.

I really enjoy my busa but it's certainly no Gixxer! If I had to choose one or the other for an only bike, I'm afraid I'd have to give up my prized busa!
