Vic got 23 Months

Bring him to my house for 1 day. I have 2 pit bulls that wouldn't hurt a flea, but I bet I could talk them into making an exception.

The shear viciousness with which he killed these defenseless animals is unforgiveable in my book.

Obviously with all that money he was still to stupid to stay out of this kind of activity. By the way wasn't the original warrant a drug case??

Fook him. His NFL days are done. Who would take that POS -the Browns?

The state gave him 23 months but the Feds still got a case.
I hope they roast him. Oh yeah he ain't rich no more, lost his career, lost his endorsements and will end up paying back his signing bonus. After that and the Feds get a hold of him hes done
Sick bastid got back what he deserved. They should have electrocuted his a$$ for not winning the Superbowl like he did his losing dogs.

And Dobieman, let's set the record straight.  It's Fed time that he IS doing right now.  The state is or was trying to get a conviction also.  But if memory serves me correctly, that would be considered something similar to double-jeopardy whereas he can't be tried twice for the same crime.
You are correct I had it reversed. He is doing Federal time now and the states case is next. Do you think all the lawyers, judges and legal people involved aren't aware of double jeopardy? They obviously have more NEW charges to add.

End of the day Vick is a thug and a sick individual who caused his own demise. Karma is a b!tch

He didn't kill people... I love my dogs but bad judgment should not ruin a guy's life. There are people that have done worse and still been able to play and make better. Anyone remember what that Ray Lewis guy did?

Isn't bad judgement something that you do once.
rock.gif
This guy had all kinds of fuggin criminals hangin around. No,Im not talkin' about a couple buddies smokin' some pot out behind the garage. ALL of these fugsticks were serius azzhole criminals. And they did what they did,day after day, week after week, month after month.

And you guys wanna call that "bad judgement". No...thats a serious character flaw.

Unless yer cut from the same cloth and enjoy roasting helpless pets in some sick....sorry...some Vick fashion.

Remind me never to visit your... 'hood.

Could just be me but....I think your train of thought blows fuggin chunk.

Sorry,I'm off my meds.

The Cowboys will take him.

I hope he rots in there.
I'm not going to disrespect any of your views, because you are entitled to them.
Anyone that treats dogs like that deserves what he gets.
And FWIW,
Bullfighting and Fox hunts aren't legal in the U.S.A., so that was a pointless arguement.
If someone did that in the U.S.A., I would say that they should be punished too.
I don't live in Mexico or Europe, so I have NO contro; over what happens there.
It's just as wrong there as it is here.
Pointless?

This discussion is about more than just the American variety of animal abuse.
I only said it was pointless to bring up what other countries and cultures do, because we live in the USA and have no control over them. Animal abuse is wrong no matter what country it's in.

Someone has to stand up for the animals,if you dont like the way the system is.....VOTE in some more lawmwakers that will make laws you like. He's a scumbag and everyone knows it,he admits it for Christ's sake! He'll do his time and get a second chance I'm sure in the NFL,I just hope this sends a message to ALL dog fighters and the fugsticks that bet on them.

He definately deserves the jail time if not more.  I'm sure he'll be out before 23months...   he's RICH

You can't compare the killing of dogs by the state to the killing of dogs in dog fights.  The state didn't buy the dogs, it is not a source of revenue to breeders who breed fighting dogs, the state doesn't offer odds or profit form the killing of dogs.  The state has to put them down because NO ONE else will feed and take care of them.  You don't like the fact that the state has to kill dogs because they don't have enough money or room, go adopt a dog.

People who fight or raise fighting dogs PROFIT from the death of these dogs.  They contribute to the problem over dog overpopulation.

Its like comparing oranges to apples.
Let the punishment fit the crime.  The media continues to push the fact that he lied to the Feds.  No different than Martha Stewart or Lil' Kim.  Lil' Kim served 1yr and 1 day for lying and Martha Stewart was put on house arrest.  And please let's not go there about it being a black and white issue.  It's simply about passing the law consistently.  Yes Michael Vick did something stupid and inhumane, but does that warrant that much time in prison and destroying his life?  There could have been other ways to hand out punishment for this crime.  But only in America can a person be acquitted of capital murder then turn right back around and be found guilty of wrongful death.(OJ Simpson)  Will sending Vick to prison for dogfighting stop dogfighting?  Hell no!  Will we see anymore judgements such as this being passed down in the future for the same crime?  I'm willing to bet my last dollar WE WON'T!
=1

what I have wondered thru this whole thing is how much dog fighting do you do to make a FED case? I know its against the law but FEDERAL charges? jesus that had to be a big operation. But in cases like this I think a better punishment would be let him play....jail is such a waste. As was said earlier he wasnt a danger to society. but let him play, 90% or some other ungodly amount of his money for the time of what would have been the jail term goes to PETA and other organizations that would bring these issues to light and help rescue other animals. Have hime do PSA's and educate people as well. in the of deason he has to go around to animal shelters and stuff like that. Theres just no benefit to anyone with him sitting there.

He will definitely get another shot... I bet in Atlanta even. 23 months already served a couple will get out do some PETA commercials like he was already. Paid for the care of those dogs.

Really is it possible to have the #1 selling jersey get in trouble by doing something unethical and them come back and a few years later have sponsors and the #1 selling jersey again.

Lets ask Kobe

Ok before you go well Kobe was not convicted but he still committed adultery. So ask your wife would she rather you kick the dog or bone the neighbor and see which she thinks is worse.

That is too easy. The answer: Bone the neighbor.SERIOUSLY.Not saying she would forgive that...but if I kicked one of the dogs...I'd have to sleep with one eye open for the rest of my life.

Holy thread resurrection batman.

Fox hunts are legal in the U.S. btw.
beerchug.gif
I didn't know that. I don't agree with it. It's not right whether it's here or somewhere else.

FWIW,
I'm not at all trying to argue with anyone here.
They have thier oppinion and I have mine.
Animal abuse is wrong and I don't feel sorry for anyone that gets nailed for it.

What I don't understand is how he can get harsher punishment then somebody who killed a person. I love dogs, don't get me wrong...but it's still just an animal. I think he got railroaded just because of who he was personally, just shows the imbalances of the system. :/ *shrugs* Funny thing is he'll probably rebound with no problem and be back playing.

Funny thing is, there are many dogs that have JOBS such as drug sniffing, police, guard, seeing eye, ect. And yet Vic plays a childs game for living. Where does that put Vic (and every other sports icon) in the grand scheme of things?

Also when you kill someone it usually ends in a life sentence or being strapped to a table and euthanized. That waste of space got off easy with less than two years, there's guys serving more time for being caught with a natural plant substance on them.

I've seen sentencing of people for only alittle over a year for killing a person, half a year for attempting it and failing. Just saying that it's odd how out of balance the system is. And I'm fully aware of what canines do, but they are still animals. Ones we love? Of course, but animals none the less.

As for Vic, I put his job into the catagory of that of an actor. He provides entertainment for the masses and gets paid well for doing it.
