Our 1 hour drive from the lake today turned into a 5 hour mayhem...
The left side tire blew, parked, dropped trailer and went to Wally world for a new tire installed ($125). Purchased jack and lug wrench while I was there.
Went back, hooked up and installed new tire.
Drove 5 miles down the road and the other tire (same axle) blew out.
Went to Northern tools and picked up a tire and wheel ($129) since Walmart tire center is now closed.
Both sides took out the fenders. Left side also took out the tag, tag light harness, and tail light.
Couldn't find what caused the first tire to blow. Passed it off as possibly a little dry rot in the tire. Had great tread left and no visable dry rot until off the wheel. The other side has got me puzzled as well.
A state trooper pulled up behind me on the second blow out and says oh my God, two blow outs in 5 miles~!~
