Favorite Restaurant and why?

I will have one of Scar's Busa's. I ma trying to get a friend of my Step Mom on here. He rides a Busa out of Taft. I believe his name is Eric. Older Gentleman. I think he just bought the bike a couple of years ago.

 Sweeeeeeet......

I did see a Busa out in that area one time, but haven't seen it since. I will keep an eye out and try to make contact with the rider if I ever see him again.. :beerchug:

Red Lobster and Applebees

Eat so much Im miserable, But what a way to get miserable

+1 on Chipotle

I also love The Melting Pot.

I feel bad for you Professor and all of you that live so far from the coast. We have so many great little seafood places here I could never name them all. I grew up near the ocean and always miss it when I am away, good seafood is but one of many reasons why.

I will NEVER forgot, in Oakland, CA, the $9 all you can eat seafood buffet, INCLUDING LOBSTER!! That rocked!!

Leatha's BBQ in Hattiesburg MS ... best BBQ I have EVER put in my mouth (and I've put a lot there)
Rigazzi's in St. Louis MO (GREAT AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD)

as far as Franchises....
Mellow Mushroom (I love the hummmus and the pizza rocks too)
Texas Roadhouse.. (I love their greenbeans and the ribs are pretty good)

Being a chef, I eat pretty good at home too!

There's the place in St. Cloud that we try to go to whenever we are in Florida..... Cancun Cafe. Don't think it's part of a chain....it doesn't look like it is anyway.

Now as far as chains go..... The Melting Pot is awesome. The Cheesecake Factory is pretty good too.

In order, but not by how frequenly I go...

Hard question - I owned & ran restaurants for 13 years & was an Executive Chef.

Since moving to Austin I haven't found the old favorites I had in Dallas, but some new ones.

Austin

Matt's El Rancho - Awesome tex-mex
III-Forks - Steakhouse
Bone Daddy's - BBQ & great scenery - I worked w/ the owner 20+ years ago, he also owns Razoo's
Cooper's BBQ - Llano

Dallas

III-Forks - Steakhouse
Campisi's Egyptian - Best Italian
Herrera's & O'jeda's - Tex-mex
Snuffer's - Burgers
Burger House
Country Burger - Grew up w/ the owners kids...long ago.

wow,, kinf of hard to pin point a "fev" here.. We have so many and all are good..

I would have to say Cyprus rates up there.. Pircey but man the food is good, and it is a open kitchen place.. Pan on dropping 200 for dinner if you go..

Next would be High Cotton,, talk aobut good..

Pensuila(sp) the cocoanut cake is out of this world (12 layers yall)

Jacks Cosmic dog use to be my watering hole, untill they started using peanut oil:cussing:

If you watch "feasting on asphalt" the first season Jacks is where Alton made the first stop..

Grill 225 is awesome for steak but man you better have some dough in your pocket.. I spent close to 500 dollars for 4 steaks and 2 bottles of wine one night..

And of course when it comes ot mexican Los Rayes cant be touched.. 45 dollars fed 6 of us with a tip.. And its not like the chain mecian places...

Ruth's Cris Steakhouse: Ultra expensive, high end, yet, awesome Filet Mignon that's great to have on occasion. so good you don't need Steak Sauce.
Tony Roma's: Good Baby Backs and their Onion Ring Loaves. Soon to be defunct? I see less and less TR's every year.
The Broken Yolk: Pacific Beach, CA. the best breakfast joint ever!!! Their O.J. rocks! :beerchug:

I was hoping i would be the first to mention this place!! I have been a few times and the food is SOOO good, and the throwd' rolls are awesome!! I think its about an 8 or 10 hour ride from where i am in central Fl, but since gas prices are down and i havent been in so long it might be worth the trip!
