I can't speak for all of California, but 40 years in L.A. taught me there is no norm there...no generalities, there are ALL kinds of people there, and that's what makes it so great. I love New York, Chicago and Boston. Great places to live and visit, but I will always consider Los Angeles my home.

There are many kinds of homeless too, lazy, deranged/drugged, and people like the guy with the kids, can't afford it but loves L.A. and refuses to leave. Sometimes you have to move to Missouri and save enough to move back. It works!
