Well, I call them a test light. Looks like a screw driver with a point on the blade end and a wire coming out of the handle end. Then you connect the wire/alligator clip to ground and then test your circuit for power or ground. The light illuminates when there is power and stays out when there is ground. Or, it would stay out if there is an open in the circuit as well.
Is it possible to cut the 12 volt plug off of LED light set and hard wire them? I've tried splicing directly into license plate light wire... but it ain't workin. Suggestions? Posted via Mobile Device
Check your ground, and you should be able to cut the plug on the light. As long as you have good continuity from hot to ground through the LED, you are good.
