Wow, glad you made it ok....too bad on the plastic, it looked nice. Now it has additional character!

Wow! Sorry about the bike, that's one of the better looking ones I've seen around here. Glad you weren't hurt (too bad)...

Wow, thanks for all the good wishes all.
Thanks twotonevert, busastalker05, mitchluv1, chrisjp, HERO TANK, SwtBusa, Cerberus, yamahor, IG, aussiesuzukirider, Manitobusa, Poppy & bjewell.

Synista & lil charlie, I have thought about frame sliders, but I don't know how much they would have helped in this case, still, I may investigate some less conspicuous ones! Those are Chinese fairings so I'll jest get some new pieces from there again. The sad part is that those pieces are less than 6 months old. Still WAY cheaper than OEM though.

Thanks jellyrug, yes it was the front wheel that skidded out, wasn't even in a curve!

Thanks AJAY, doesn't every busa lover jump up after a crash to see if his bike is OK, even if he's completely busted up ? I'll get new flame fairings, watch this space.

Thanks mattrat, the only concern I have about kevlar jeans (or textile pants for that matter) is that I would be using there every single day, right through the Texas summer. I'm likely to pass out and crash from heat exhaustion !

Thanks Tuff, I'll heal soon enough and I'll have the bike patched up soon too. At least I still have the Blackbird and VFR800 to ride

True words cipher5791, was just hoping to delay the inevitable as long as possible. I have played the scenario out in my head many times since the incident and as I said on top, I realize that this was one of those horrible circumstances that you just can't plan for. That being said, I'll be avoiding all vaguely dark spots from now on like the plague!

Spkrdctr, a few friends have also asked me if ABS would have helped and I'm not entirely sure, it happened so quick. Would still like ABS though. I feel much more confident in the linked brakes on my Blackbird than I do on the busa.

Glad you came out of it relatively alright! As others have said the bike really doesn't look too bad, I have seen a lot worse on my own Busa even!

Most imp is you and your health.
Would you rather have a perfect bike and two broken legs?
Well don't answer that cuz if your like me you may ponder the answer :)

In no time bike will be all well and so will you to ride another day.

One broken leg isnt so bad.... Idk about two?

I need elaboration.

Will the bike stay perfect forever?

Do I get to add a turbo?

Perfect as in aesthetics as well as mechanical? (no scratches etc)

If the answer to those is yes then YES. I would take two broken legs :beerchug:

Sorry to hear about your crash. Like everyone else said. The best thing is that you are here to share it with us and you are ok. Reminds us all that it can happen to anyone anytime. We all learn from others here. That's what makes this board a great place. Take care.

It's been said and probably better than I'll manage, but it happens, the damage looks minor, very minor, and you fared very well. Heal up quick, best wishes.

It's not so bad, plus your ok which is what really matters. That looks like it can be fixed.

Looks like you came out very well - The bike has to be perfect no character! It was 6 months before I even started on my rebuild, I had some bones to heal- Now the Busa looks new Wear Leather there is no substitute
