A pair of classy ladies......I wish I lived in that era.......

King Kenny and Barry Sheene.......nice to see the Suzuki leading there.....

Kenny went on to win the race though, barely.

Throwback, British Grand Prix at Silverstone 1979.
One of the closest and most exciting finishes in Grand Prix history.
one of motorcycle racing’s most thrilling duels between reigning world champion Kenny Roberts and British hero Barry Sheene. Over 28 laps, the two riders exchanged leads multiple times, In the final lap, Roberts navigated lapped riders more efficiently, gaining a slight advantage. Sheene made a valiant effort to overtake in the last corner but was narrowly defeated by just 0.03 seconds.

That’s Dot And her daughter Betty, hardcore rider until age 85. Notice the hard tail Harleys with spring seats. They would lol be kick start Harleys too right? Those were some very…..hearty women.

This image features Dorothy "Dot" Robinson, a pioneer in women's motorcycling and co-founder of the Motor Maids organization, with her daughter Betty.

  • Known as the "First Lady of Motorcycling," Dot Robinson was a motorcycle stuntwoman and competed in endurance races against men in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.

  • In 1940, she co-founded the Motor Maids, one of the oldest and largest women's motorcycle organizations in North America, and served as its president for 25 years.

  • Dot Robinson challenged the stereotype of female motorcyclists, promoting the idea that women could ride motorcycles while still being considered "ladies".

  • She and her husband, Earl Robinson, owned a Harley-Davidson dealership in Detroit, and she rode motorcycles until she was 85.
