I was thinking of doing a stage 1 kit like the velocity one.  I was just wondering how safe would that be on my 30,000 mile motor. and will a turbo make the bike over heat ive heard they do.  I live in vegas so summers are hot and my busa is the only bike Iv ever had that doesnt over heat here in traffic.  Im also not sure if the odo is even right because it has 220 guages and its an 01 and as far as i know they didnt come that way. Also what should I check befor installing the kit. I already have new clutch and race springs.

30,000 miles is allot, but I am sure it would work, just a little more risky then a motor with less miles.

the only reason the bike would over heat is if the idle gets set too hi, or if the fuel pressure is too low, making it lean on idle. If you get it right, it should not over heat. Barry

my stock motor bike doesn't overheat in traffic in 100 degree heat. The fan will come on but it holds it right at half way on the temp gauge

When you do the install I would recommend engine ice and synthetic motor oil. I'm not an expert and I don't own a Turbo. Just from reading and listening to others. Barry knows his shid and if he says it's not a problem then don't worry about it.

The other thing that will make a Turbo overheat is riding it hard and boosting then getting stuck in traffic.  The bike never has a chance to cool down and will start to over heat.  Just come off of runs and then keep it down for a while if you know you are going to be in traffic.  Now I am not talking about a little boost, I am talking about extended high end runs with heavy boost. All of that heat has no where to go.
