Tires - any sport touring tires worth it?

My rear tire is ready for a burn out and a new one. I have Michilin Pilots on right now, but am contemplating putting a longer lasting tire on. Just curious if anyone has had experience with sport touring tires with the softer sides and harder middle. I think Michelin MFG's these kind but not sure. Any recommendations?

I tried the Avon Azaro AV45/46 Sport Touring tire on.

They're okay.

Excellent commuter and sport-touring tire because the center tread REALLY last a long time. Got over 4k on mine and there's another 1k left.

One big problem: The fronts cupped badly. The sides of the front Avons are now bald. However, most of my riding is sport-riding.

The Avon's also suck in very light rain. Very slippery when there is just a light moisture on the road. Otherwise, they work okay in pouring rain.

Thanks for the input. I did some more reading and I think I am going with the Bridstone Battlax BT56s.

Cheers
