Throttle body sync

Yesterday and friend and I tried to sync my throttle bodies. I did it exactly like the manual said but the bike was running really rough when the sync tool was all hooked up. The hoses didn't fit on the throttle body nipples tight so I used safety wire to try and crimp them. I'm thinking that it was running rouch because the hoses weren't tight and I created a vacume leak.

Here is how it was set up though.

four throttle bodies had one hose each going to the sync tool
sensor in the airbox was still hooked up, air box sitting on a chair next to the bike.
sensor on the back of the airbox was disconnected from the airbox but remained hooked up.
engine was warmed up and idle set to 1150
plugged one or two hoses, i can't remember but not one hose was left open

Now when I was trying to get them synced the mercury was jumping all over the place as was the idle. I couldn't get them perfect but it was close. When I disconnected everything and hooked it back up the idle was up over 3000 RPMs (that's how much I had to adjust it when the sync tool was hooked up).

Something wasn't right huh....lol.
