Well, I must admit for this old boy from the South that we had a blast in Tahoe. Got in on Friday with about 12" powder. Got another 11" overnight going into Saturday. We took a snowmobile tour than I took a private off-course trip for 3 hours around Sierra (highly recommended). These guys ride to your ability. When i got there he asked what my experience was so I grinned and showed him a picture of my baby... He looked up and grinned and said cool, this should be fun and hopped on some Ski-doo 800's

. And fun it was. By Sunday we were hit with another 18" and everyone was scrammbling to get back to Sac over the pass. Most lifts closed with 70-80 mph winds up top so never hit the slopes.

Me and the wifey went there a few years ago and almost got snowed in. We flew into Reno and rented a car. The night before we were to drive back to Reno from South Lake they got 3 feet of snow and 70-80 mph winds. I will try to find the pics and post. The cars in the motel were just piles of snow with antenaes.

I had to drop the rental at a local drop and buy bus tickets for us to get back down the mountain to Reno.

Way too much snow for me, but looks like you all had a great time!

Great pics! we used to rent a cabin on the lake there when we were kids...

Water skiing is an experience there...

I remember the water being crystal clear too... still like that? (and COLD)

Lake is still 99% pure and let's you see several color variations. Stays cold year round but people still ski with a suit. Not many swimmers though. I learned that if the lake emptied it would put California in 14" of water. I want to make a summer and take an ATV up the mountain as well as trout fishing.
