Stater free spinning after start?

So my starter cover has leaked a lil oil since the day I bought it brand new. Ive tried to reseal it a couple times with no luck. So I went to change the oil Sat. and notice it was leaking again, so while the oil was drained figured I try again. Well after all said and done bike starts fine everytime, but now the starter stays spinning for a second after it starts. Even if the bike is running u can hit the start button and it will spin. Any ideas what I might of did wrong or maybe the limiter just happen to be going?

Sounds like it is in the wrong spot.Took me a couple attempts to get it in right.Either it was too tight or too loose.Make sure to torque that housing equally.
