First time taking it off, easier than expected. I am doing this to remount my HID ballasts, and clean up their initial installation, and also to install the HID delay.

While in there anything else to look at or do maintenance on? I am going to clean a lot of stuff (10 years worth) of stuff off where I can reach.

Sure looks funny with the nose just hangin there

Just do a good inspection of everything. Check for any corrosion on electrical stuff, cracked or broken pieces. The norm when you remove parts.

delay timer would be good for the h.i.d. so it doesn't tax your charging system. you can set it so that the h.i.d. won't fire up right away when turning the bike over. do a search and check it out while you got the nose off. very easy install!

If there was any connections made to wire in the hid's or anything else I would double check them to make sure they were all done and sealed right.
