The things that you list that I learned about moslims are all true, if they did not do it I would not learn about it. I don't get your point on that at all.

I has been going on since the Ottomans started to come West, with them was the Message of Mohammed.
This threatened the entrenched Catholics, (this was before Martin Luther formed the "Lutheran" in other words reformed church) whom reacted by spreading negative propaganda about Muslims and the coming Evil of Islam.
The original message was about purity in spirit and propagation of Mankind in a safe mode. Now it has been warped by some Over Zealous Megalomaniacs.

You couldn't have even made it to the weapon or the thought because I would have known.
I am intelligent. You are entitled to your opinion be it closed minded or open. You have to think in their backwards (relative to ours) philosophy to understand the mind of the Mujahedin. To understand why, what, how , when, where they are motivated to hate.

Then maybe you can make an educated decision about US or THEM.

Even less do I call myself one of your friends just because my neighbor growing up was a nice American/Anglo lady named Mary-Lee Strong, who happened to teach this poor little allergy-prone/snotty Chicano kid about the world more than my relatively uneducated parents were able to do. She taught me to look at things from different perpectives and formulate a better opinion. She taught me how to pedal a bicycle. She brought gifts to me and my sisters during Christmas and Birthdays.

I agree wholeheartedly in a purely economic sense first. WHy should the US taxpayer have to foot the bill for our Foreign policy practices? Then look at it further and see that we would foot the bill and it ends up in the bank account of VP CHENEY and Halliburton.
If we are supposedly a Democracy why don't the people get to have a clean choice for election?
Why did we end up with GW after his brother's help down Tampa Way and a legal battle? Why are American citizens made to look like fools on the world stage.
Why do we have forces deployed around the world? For defense? Not since the "NON", uhm, ahem, I meant COLD WAR have we had a remotely tangible enemy...
Everything else has been a testing ground for new weapons and proving ground for indirect combat of the evil (socialism).

Have you ever watched the news about lack of security around certain places. The Press is SO STUPID they will tell everyone how to do it. All they need to do is to send their broadcast to the terrorist. I would whole heartedly give up some of my freedoms to ensure that my fellow Americans can live in a secure environment. Hence I have served 6 years in the Marines. But in short, We Americans are our own worst enemys at times. Giving more freedoms to those who deserve it not & putting those who do need it at risk. I could go on but I'm sure this is not the direction this post was meant to go.

ok all..i know we all hate terrorism..but let me ask you one thing....remember the last time someone allowed...more or less unrestricted capture and torture of individuals..all in the name of bettering the "country" and keeping them "safe"...how can you really TRUST your goverment that much to belive that everything its doing is in YOUR best intrests?...hitler did the same thing...look where that lead him and his country...now i am not saying that some of these people are not bad...but mabey some of these people are innocents (we have death row inmmates cleared due to dna...mistakes happen) or if someone came into our country and started pointing thier fingers or you fought back because you didnt like them being there and you were wisked away and tortured......something to think about..time to get off the ego of america is the "BEST" and realize we make mistakes to....and we need to take care of buisness at home and if the rest of the world wants to go to hell in a hand basket...let them...we need to stop being a police nation...cause we are treating the rest of the world like kings

I live in Sarajevo...
The people here are interesting. There are Christians(Serbs), Kroats (catholics) and Muslims (although very un-muslim in practice) then you have the blends....
The muslims are quite different than the rest due to their culturally (religiously) ingrained philosophy. They don't lend a hand as readily as the Christian derivatives... They are quick to try an get a buck off you..
The others I have to say feel like one of us, myself being a Catholic (atheist) raised lad and an American. That, being a conservatively oriented nation in regards to many issues has become the most powerful.
The differences that I would like to illustrate are what you quoted.
True, generally speaking it seems that respect for one another and much less the land is lacking to say the least.
However I do have a Muslim friend that jumped into a swollen river to rescue a friend that had been thrown in during a brawl.
So how can I generalize?

Thing is JP, there are hyper nationalist citizens in America that want to impose our beliefs on the rest of the world... It just so happens that the rest of the world is the kind that has a bunch of valuable mineral deposits under the surface.
America exports so many counter-terrorists in the form of religious missionaries to places like the one I live in and the rest of the "heretic" world. We literally Americanize the world in this way. I meet them everywhere and I just tell my local friends that they should just watch how much they allow themselves to be influenced.

I find it odd that as of yesterday?...the iraqi's have been placed under martial law kurfew and hafta "REMAIN INDOORS" thru sunday....that's nearly 3 days they hafta remain inside their homes...not allowed out on the streets....so they can't see what's going on....with NATO Troops "running block"...as i predict....this is...."THE PULLOUT" folks....and here's the only reasons i think that...

1. The republicans are hurting at the Mid-Term Polls and?....

2. They ain't gonna allow the possibility of the Dems taking credit for getting us out of iraq.

so those of you with loved ones in the service?....smile...i think they'll be home sooner than anyone expected.
