How does the broken english depict where the guy is from other than just that he/she is or appear to be foreign?

Not just the fact that it's broken english, but the syntax is what made me think this guy is Nigerian. Not my first fishing trip.......

A scam for sure! A couple of things gives it away. Them wanting ur info, them wanting u to hold it for them, a cashiers check, and them offeren to have a shipping company to come by.
