What are the road conditions like up north?

I am riding up to Sac on Friday to meet some friends. My plan is to take 49 north until Placerville and then head into Sac. A lot of the foothill roads down here still have dirt/sand from last week's rain.

By the way, I have been on just about every sierra road south of 88 but have not ventured north. Any good rides I could loop through over the weekend that are north of 88?

oh and we have had alot of rain so watch for sand , gravel... and mt's ofcourse still have plenty of snow...

May be a bit soon after the rain, but will still be good riding, just slow down a bit.

Lots of good roads and riding in the hills and along the coast

I like to do a lot of riding in the fall as the colors change.
