replacing clutch lever

luckily, my garage is carpeted. I was taking her down from the stands and just as she leaned over, i remembered that i forgot to put the kickstand back down and there she goes, slow motion to the ground! luckily, the only thing that broke was the clutch lever; just snapped off the end

does anybody have an exploded view or know where to get one so i can replace it? it looks pretty simple, i just don't want to unscrew something and find out a little spring pops out and gets lost.

thanks in advance

vic

btw, it is a 2000 in case it matters

Im not sure where to get one, look on Ebay, or do a search for factory parts, but I know its easy to replace, I droped my '01 in my driveway a few years ago, and i had to replace the clutch lever, I just got the part at the dealer.

Try Lockhart Phillips its about $20....it also fits a Suzuki TLR1000.

you wont have any probs...

a little grease on the pin...

the nut on the bottom needs to come off, the bolt on top is threaded in...

tell ya what, I'll do a re/re for ya, with pics....be right back

I checked the Lockhart web page and they don't list the Busa, but I have both the clutch and brake levers. The # for the clutch is 240-1255 and the front brake is 240-1258. They are the same as the TLR 1000. I bought these to have a spare set about a year and a 1/2 ago and paid $12.99 for the clutch lever and $3.95 for the brake lever. Brand new in the box....I couldn't believe how inexpensive they were

the pin for the clutch master will stay in place, so will the starter motor clutch switch...

they will stay in place for you nicely, thx to the rubber boot(on the clutch master actuation pin), an' the fact that the switch is bolted to the lever perch (or housing,if you prefer)

you may need to press out this brass bushing, the new lever probably wont come with it, or the adjusting mechanism.

you'll need to re-assemble the lever.

don't even attempt to do this operation, without the proper attire.

you must have a fully sanctioned, factory endorsed, officially licenced ...

LOL, can't get any easier than that unless i drove it to you to fix for me.

thanks for the pics. I was worried about removing a cable, etc,

very straightforward
