Richie, I've the 16 tooth too. In first at any revs I have my choice of leaning forward and spinning the tire or sitting up and wheelying.

I don't remember. Doesn't the stock sprocket give you the same choice?

My Busa will power wheelie in 1st whether I'm on the tank or not. I'm about 189 lbs without leathers and have stock sprocket. I either have to be a bit progressive with the throttle in 1st or be willing to ride on one wheel until I shift to 2nd. This is with a gentle launch to avoid wheelspin. On the tank the front wheel doesn't come up as much but is still airborne none the less. The first indication is a nice 'soft' ride from the front and a light feeling from the bars with a gentle progression of height soon afterward. Imperfect hard shifts/quick clutch release to 2nd can also cause the front wheel to become airborne but more suddenly and with less warning - even on the tank.

TODD we're the same weight so either you've got a lot more traction than I do (unlikely) or your progressive roll-on is giving you the wheelies and preventing spinning when you're on the tank.

Come to think of it when I want to spin the rear while underway in first I lean forward and really snap it. I'll try your progressive throttle while leaning forward and see if that hoists'er.

Its easy to make the sprocket replacment sound simple. You will need a impact gun and socket to get the sprocket off, and posibly a metric hex driver to impact the allen keeper bolt out of the sprocket. Simple yes, with the right tools on hand.

Speedo error will not be affected by changing the sprocket...the speedo runs off the front wheel. Of course you knew that...
