recommended octane for 13:1 comp

Hello! I have a K4 Busa with ported Cylinder head, Yoshi Stage1 cams and stock bore Wiseco CK104 pistons(+ PC IIIusb+full exhaust). Which is the recommended octane numbers? I live in Europe, here is 91, 95, 98, and 98+ (RON) octan pump gas. Thanks for help!

95 or 98 will get it done, here in the states I run a blend of 91 pump and 100 octane 50/50 until the strip opens,then I get Fuel at the track which is 112. (the 100 octane is from a local small airport)

Suzuki Recommends 95 octane (research method) on the 08 Busa which is advertised as 12.5:1. I would say 98 in your case would be the minimum. What is the 98+ is there an additive or alcohol blend?

I think the 98+ gas have special additive, but i don't know what. Thanks for help!

S-R, do you ever run on just 93 pump? I'm having a 13:1 1397 built right now and was hoping I would be able to get by on pump 93 as long as I stayed off the bottle.


My last motor had 12.8:1 stock bore JE's and I ran 93 pump all the time.

Sure, if I don't have any mix around. Can't say I've ever had any troubles either. I keep a bottle of 104 octane boost on the shelf just to be safe. 1 bottle does 5 tanks
