The only one I've heard any reports on is the Bose Wave. That's the size I want, has to be quality, AM/FM and iPod docking would be a bonus.

You should check this out. I'm very picky when it comes to sound quality and I really love the way they sound.

What is you source going to be? How much to you want to spend? Does it have to be one piece or are separates OK?

Bang for the buck has to be powered monitors. I use a pair of Rokit 8. Any half way decent monitor would do, those are just the ones I use.
