Some folks have been offended because I deleted some of their political threads. There seems to be an assumption that I've only deleted certain "sides" of the argument. That is incorrect.

I honestly have no interest in the political topics discussed here; I am interested in how and why we post them. I refuse to let this site be part of the continual political division of our country. We have several members who use this forum solely to publicize their personal opinions rather than having real, factual discussions.

When a member posts the same type of divisive messages over and over, the intention becomes clear. In an effort to balance free speech with forum continuity, I am removing threads that bring no value to a motorcycle forum and cause disruption.

This is a balanced approach. If you don't understand why your political threads are disappearing, look at your ratio of political posts to all other topics. Please review my recent "why are you here" thread if you are still confused.

I’m on a local San Francisco area moto forum and the same thing happens there.
They have a dedicated political section but if someone posts an opinion that is contrary to the majority group think they get piled on with mocking comments and personal jabs rather than factual rebuttals or reasoned opinions.

Amazing the behavior that is displayed when hiding behind a keyboard.

The terms of service specify no personal attacks but the moderators don’t do anything unless it gets way out of hand.
Knowing this it has become a free for all.

I’m on this forum ( and the local one) to enjoy myself, this community and learn a few things.

No political stuff for me thank you.
