Radiator protection

Only had my Busa for 2 weeks and I noticed a little damage to the radiator fins from small stones ETC. Stumps me that it doesn't have some sort of a grill and I imagine a stone flicked up when following another bike could take it out and with me looking elsewhere I could end up in a rapid overheat situation.
So I obtained some Stainless Steel mesh and have made one up that is Strip tied to the front of the radiator and it works a treat with no change in Temp when I am riding.
Any one got any thoughts on its worth..?

Oh thanks what a great site with lots of good stuff.
However mine only cost $10.00 NZ (bout $7.50 US) for the materials and an hour or two of enjoyment making it..

Anyone buy some screen from somewhere in north america? I want to do this mod too before the rad gets too plugged up with bugs!
