I have a 2006 Busa that I bought used about 2 months ago. It only has 1800 miles on it. I haven't had any problems up until now.

The other night I am driving home and I notice that the headlights are getting dimmer, then bright, them dim again. They continue to do this for the next 15 miles until I get home. I thought maybe it was just the headlight bulb going out, so I turned on the high beam. It was also doing the exact same thing along with the regular headlight. However, there is no problem with the engine. Spark plugs seems to be firing just fine. I also notice the speedometer jump up and back down a couple times.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what could be causing it? I really don't know that much about electrical systems on vehicles. Any thoughts?

time for a basic look at the battery cables and especially the blk/wht harness ground plug...
second stop should be a charging system check to see whether the regulator cutoff is jumping around.. paying attention to the lights to see if there is any relationship between the light intensity and the charging system output

+1 on the battery cables, and the ground plug (gets overlooked a lot). Do a load test on the battery, as well.

Also great advice on the charging system. Flickering lights with zero battery problems is either a bad ground, or a charging system problem. Your stator may be grounding out, or your regulator/rectifier is failing.
