Bad situations... Thats an understatement
How do we... AS THE PREMIERE SUPER POWER OF THE WORLD,
"as I often hear mentioned on other guys posts" allow for our fellow brothers and sisters to drown in attics and crawl spaces trying to escape water??
Elderly people dead in folding chairs on TV ????
How is any of this acceptable ???? Were were our leaders ???
Why was no real decisive action taken within hrs???
To this day why are the levees not "rebuilt" to withstand CAT 5 hurricanes??? Our technology and resources are light years ahead of every one else on the globe... Yet our people were allowed to drown and starve ???

The approaching storm was under rated. The first mistake was at the local level. They even re-elected the clown. Next blunder was the State Government. While they augured with City Government things only got worse.

When the Federal Government got involved the storm already had done it's damage leaving only the mess.

In come the Liberals and Bush haters making it worse then it was. Stir the pot. I'll do it different. It's the current administrations fault. Geraldo Rivera and his whinning was enough to make me throw up. What an azz clown he is.

Gustov was handled differently. Don't think for one minute the media and the Democratic Party wanted nothing more than a complete disaster in an election year.

Didn't happen.

Excellent read... Yes long but worth it... Theres actually a lot of facts you speak about that the average American does not have a clue about, like the thousands of Kurds slaughtered in the North of Iraq after we withdrew the first time...

Saddam Hussein's Iraqi army killed 5,000 Kurds in a 1988 chemical weapons attack on Halabja near the end of a bloody, eight-year war with Iran not after Bush Sr. ordered the troops out. I just wanted to correct this part of your statement.

Good post. Thanks for taking the time to type it all. Agreed 100 percent.

Thank you. :beerchug:

To the best of my knowledge everything I typed was accurate based on my knowledge of events. (and not from the news media)

Yup! and since Saddam was still under our payroll in 88' Guess what? We just looked the other way. The reason why Saddam invaded Kuwait is because Kuwait was stealing oil from Iraq. Don't get this twisted Kuwait is not an innocent country. The Iraq campaign would have made more sense if we took action in 1988 instead we waited until 2003.
