I love those bikes and that color!
It’s a great bike for sure but the pic was for the sign covered in stickers. BTW I don’t get the ‘steel sub-frame’ comment by Carl do you?
Just to rub it in here’s a better pic of the bike.

Yeah, great looking machine, and looks super comforatble.
I think his steel subframe question was in regards to strength for passenger, or the weight of gear for touring, vs an aluminum subframe.

Every thread I have read regarding my upcoming trip in April along the Alvord Desert in Oregon talks about flat tires. Many of them compare the remoteness to Alaska. I'm thinking about blocking part of the cooling units with card board to protect them. My main concern is heavy rain and mud. I may need a plan B. My eye still twitches from the last time I road the Suzuki on a muddy road...
Yeah, that teardrop tank is a classic. It's a shame they messed up when tried the same remake of the katana. That bike was a legend in it's day.I come across aluminum sub frames for the Suzuki from time to time and think: "Oh cool!" Then recall that they stopped offering them for a reason.
Love the Z. I think they nailed the modern retro look.

This beast is still in the family....I gave it to my older son......Love the Muth styling. Love to own one.
I liked how the new single shock rear on the GS700ES allowed you to see most of the rear tire.

One of our female members did an epic trip on her gen1 years ago and posted about it. Her ride report was on ADVrider but most of her pics were on photo bucket and are long gone. It was pretty cool to see how she managed to pull that off on a busa considering she is not very big person.Been reading about the border crossing between Stewart BC and Hyder AK. It closes between 12-8 AM. If you want cross during that time, you call on the hand set attached to the building. Sounds pretty chill.
The Salmon Glacier sounds cool. A bit of gravel, but from everything I've read, it's worth the trouble.
One of the write ups talked about bears. Basically they said, even if you don't see them, they see you...

Your comment about bears made me LOL! It reminded me when I bought my first DR650 and was heavily researching how to make a Florida to Alaska trip happen and one of the guys on the ADV forum asked if he should take a 50 cal. Revolver. Another member replied, “sure, just make sure to shave off the sights so it doesn’t hurt as bad when the bear rips it off your shaking hands and shoves up your as…..!”Been reading about the border crossing between Stewart BC and Hyder AK. Okay so, unfortunately this website only allows a 25 000 character entry limit, the ride report is around 31 000. So instead of cutting 6000 characters out of my ride report, I will just refer you to Adventure Rider forums if you would like to read about my trip to Alaska and back. Thanks, enjoy!
