Panama City beach area????

Anybody from around that area or has been to the Thunder Beach rally in april? I haven't been to Panama City since I was a kid. We are thinking about going for the Thunder Beach event, but don't really know where to stay. Any suggestions on the best locations. We would like something close to the main area that won't cost me my first born.

Maybe down towards Mexico beach,anything on the strip is expensive.

we went about 3 years ago... we rented a condo.. it was nice and $$.. but there were 5 of us to split the cost...

Haven't been there since the early '70's. Use to be a great place.

Like Jules said we went down there a few years back. There was alot of Harley out there, till the weekend came around then some more sport bikes came around but mostly Harley types.
