Pair valve?

What exactly does this do and if I remove it what problems may I experience. BTW I have an 06 Limited Edition. I have done a full Muzzy SS system, PCIIIUSB, and K/N filter for mods. Bike only has 415 miles on it (less then a month of riding). I am only asking because they sell the kits to block it off? and shave 2lbs of weight.
