I was thinking...instead of buying pair blockoff plates could you cut off the ends, weld them, or if u don't have a welder....JB weld the holes? then bolt them back on

Easier than that is to use a marble to plug the PAIR valve.

or if you do remove the pair. use self tapping screws in the holes

I used a piece of flat aluminum stock, cut the pipes of the stock flanges, cut the aluminum to size and drilled holes in it for the studs to go thru. Then I put the stock flanges on top of the aluminum pieces and bolted it all back down. Less than $9 and 30 minutes in the mod.

Benefit:
Prevents backfiring after an aftermarket full exhaust has been installed. Removal of PAIR also shaves about 2lbs.

I wouldn't take the chance of risking getting metal shaving inside .
