Snopes says he didn't survive and the pictures clearly show an EMT with a flashlight checking out his helmet while the rider hangs there (read: motionless and not standing on his own power).

If he was able to be saved, they would not be taking grizzly pictures but rather trying to get him out of there and save his life.

I remember seeing this a couple years ago and it's still sad

I have seen it several times some say he lived other say he didn't
