i was doing some work on my bike.... i have to get it all the way back togther be fore i take pics to put up here, and i had the sides back on but i left the belly pan off now the more i look at it with it off i think i really like it gone, other than holding the sides together(i can make a bracket for that) is there anything it does or is it really just there for looks? i was told that it does produce down force at high speed but i dont know if that is true i had my busa up to 160 with it off and felt no diff. did any one else take theirs off?

It will keep a lot of rocks, dirt, etc. out of places they don't belong.

I have seen a few people take them off just for the look of it, but mostly people take them off to install a center stand.

It doesn't create any down force...it smooths out the air flow under the bike for less drag and a bit more top speed
