Not running

2005 motor, Falicon knife rods, Gen II crank, JE pistons, Web cams, ported, degreed cams, MPC Cam position sensor, Brocks advance pin, Milled head, 2008 throttle bodies, and installed in 2008 frame with 2008 electronics. Great spark but acts like timing is off. Won't start and backfires thru throttle bodies. Any ideas?

Sounds like the timing is 180 degrees out!

Switched rotor for a Gen II rotor and now it runs, if you spray gas into the throttle bodies. Question: will the O2 sensor not being connected stop the fuel injection? I have read the service manual and it says it should run, but it is the only thing missing. Cleaned injectors both primary and secondary, fuel pump has correct pressure, fuel in tank, good fuel, pump relay chkd ok.

Last one I encountered that had spark but no injector pulse was the tip over.
