1st post hope I get it right! Thank you to all who contribute to this forum, its been a huge help over the past week!
I have for years loved the look of this bike. So when the time came I
I bought a very lightly used 2006 LE from an excellent human being. I think i made a new friend?
12K miles bone stock save for a lowering link in the rear. I put on 5 miles test riding it, brought it home and started the tear down the minute I unloaded it. Litterally didnt even start or ride it again.
Here is my list of modifications over the coming month. Most parts are here in the shop already with a few straggling in over the next week.
Changing all fluids, Lithium battery and maintainer, Check valve clearances, Race tech valving and springs in progress, BMC air filter, Hindle full exhaust (ordered today, got both mid pipes and brackets for high and low mount because i couldnt make up my mind), Galfer front ss lines and pads, Pair valve removal and block off, ZG double bubble, shorten up the fender and tail light, considering the little air box mod and ecu edit instead of TRE and mapping. I'm sure a few more items will come to mind over the coming weeks. Suggestions welcomed and appreciated.

About me: Born and raised in N. CA central valley (still here). After a 15 year hiatus from street riding Ive jumped back in now that the kids are older or out of the house. Never stopped dirt riding.
Past sport bikes: 89 GSXR 750, 96 GSXR 750, 98 TL1000r
Before kids I did a few track days on my TL100R but this busa is my new sport tourer, I love corners... This is gonna be awesome!

Sorry, forgot pics...

Congrats and welcome! You must have been planning the purchase for a while to already have a plan and started tear down. Look forward to hearing how it goes.

Just an update as to my progress, again thank you all for the replies and reccomendations.
Its been cold and rainy here in N. California so I've only done a 6 mile test ride to the fuel station for a fill up. Need some more seat time before i decide to buy the raising link for the rear but initial impression is I may need it.

Done with the larger bits, doing helibars and new grips this weekend.
That said can I get reccomendations on comfortable non-heated sport/touring grips?
Lastly I'm exploring options for the seats, looks like Tobin/new image is what I'm leaning toward allthough Corbin looks good too.

They are a gel grip, not squishy or rock solid, just medium, and I like the tapered shape, it fits my hands better(I wear xl gloves).
I have used these on 3 sportbikes, one dual-sport, and 2 fourwheelers(had to buy 2 sets because of thumb throttles).
I have 2 sets on the shelf now, and will probably buy a few more, as I don't want to be without them should they get discontinued.
I've used them on all my machines for almost a dozen years now.
