I heard the 06 hayabusa was gonna be a hovercraft motorcycle like in star wars? You mean an industry insider said it's still gonna have wheels and just a bigger engine?

Well... I was sworn to secrecy about the hovercraft mode but since the cat's out of the bag, go ahead and sell yours and get your deposit in. It will be constructed entirely of Titanium Fiber composite, have a 1400 cc fusion engine with MPT (massive particle-thrust), adjustable digital gravity trim, gyroscopic stabilization, and thin air cushion tire technology (the tires will never actually contact the road surface). There are also rumors of an optional electroheterodyne energy shield for crash protection but my source can't confirm that yet. All in all, it should be quite a bike...!

Key Article Info Here...

"Additional concerns by the big four Japanese manufacturers (Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha) in recent times over adverse publicity for their high-powered steeds has resulted in a different approach according to Wootton, one of the world’s most experienced motorcycle journalists with nearly 25 years at the helm of the internationally recognised publication.

“There’s a gentleman’s agreement between the Japanese manufacturers that no bikes will be built with a top speed of more than 300 kmh. That was initiated when Kawasaki was about to launch its ZX12R, and the world launch was canned because of the concern about the potential bad press regarding the speed of the machine,†said Wootton.

“That’s why most of the Japanese bikes now have a cut-out where they get to 299.9 kmh and they won’t go any faster. Indeed, the later model Suzuki Hayabusas aren’t as fast as the earlier ones for that reason too,†he says, adding, “but you can get past that and convert them so they run to their real top speed by swapping some electronics.â€

“As far as these naked bikes go, their top speed isn’t going to be an issue, because their top speed is determined by aerodynamics and without a fairing, they just can’t go that fast because aerodynamics are so important at those speeds. The Kawasaki ZX12R actually puts out more horsepower than the Hayabusa but the reason the Hayabusa is the world’s fastest standard road going motorcycle is because it has better aerodynamics.â€

And the one thing that Mr. Wooten missed that I'll add...

"A Much Broader, Flatter, Torque Curve."

Motorcycle companies just don't mess with Bread & Butter products if they don't have to...unless it's under threat of competition from other companys and...well...the Busa just isn't.

Also...despite a large torquey down low engine the B-King will be lucky if it can even come close to rolling out much over an actual top speed of 160mph....and to give ya'll an idea???...most 600 class sportbikes can out-top-end all of the Liter+ Class Nakeds....the B-King will be a large caliber street fighter.....the howitzer of street fighters as a matter of fact...but it ain't gonna roll with the fully faired Busa...and until something comes along that can???...or the 300KPH/186MPH gets lifted???...Suzi will have little to NO REASON to up the anty on their Busa's...especially when most in my area are sold within a day or two of hitting the showroom floor...or the new '05 LE I saw get sold yesterday afternoon while 1/2 of it was still in the crate it was shipped in.

JMHO as I thought B4 I bought and...L8R, Bill.

Sheer Demographics WB....and why all the dealers down my way hafta keep telling folks who are looking for a Busa...

"No we don't have one in stock but...we can getcha one!!!"

They'll move whether it's here or there....and for the most part it'll depend on what sort of arrangement the distributing dealer has with the manufacturer...some buy'em outright while others are on a "Floor Time Lease Plan"....some get their tit in the wringer where they can't move on the price while others (seemingly) could care less if they move'em at all...as sitting on an old brand new Busa for 20 years ain't a bad thing either...he11...I gotta yami dealer by me who's been sitting on an '03 Black w/ Red Flames R1...I told'im whenever he's ready to move on the price to give me a call...he told me "It'll be a cold day in He11 that he offs that bike for anything less than MSRP"...as IHO it's just one of those bikes...like the Busa...that's worth sitting on rather than taking a wholesale beating....as in...what's a new in the crate H2 worth these days??? LOL!!!

Some bikes are timeless in a "Legendary" sorta way...the Busa is one of'em...along with Honda's CBX...Kaws H2 750/2 Stoke/Triple...Norton Commando, Vincent Black Shadow...these are the bikes no dealer worth his franchise ever took a beating on save a national recession.

Conversly???...we have SV1000's that sit on our floors down this way...why???...demographics....torquey twins just don't fair well on the long, straight, fast flats of florida..as this is...

"BUSALAND"

And I'll bet a lot of Busa that got slatted to places like Nashville wound up getting sold inplaces like Florida and Texas.

Again...JMHO and L8R, Bill.

I said it before. Two weeks ago when this "rumor", not 'this' one but one very similiar, was started....
Contrary to what your Suzuki Racing 'insider' may think - the fact is the Hayabusa is selling better then it EVER has.

In it's history.

"EVER".....

These are hard sales facts released by Suzuki Sales to Suzuki Sales Reps.

In print.

No BS.

Not from an 'insider' or a 'this guy I met' or a whatever.... but actual sales news released via Suzuki.

Busa sales sluggish??? Ummmm. No. We are blowing them out. Suzuki has a problem keeping up with demand. Their popularity is greater now then ever.

I gotta yami dealer by me who's been sitting on an '03 Black w/ Red Flames R1...I told'im whenever he's ready to move on the price to give me a call...he told me "It'll be a cold day in He11 that he offs that bike for anything less than MSRP"
Some dealer's are just jackasses

Ted...that statement was mine...not Warbabys...and yes...it highly possible that that particular dealer is being an @$$ about his Black w/ Red Flames R1....then again the same guy claims he has (3) '98 R1's sitting in crates in the same warehouse...and he dosen't seem to mind sitting on them either...and yes...many rich folks have a tendency to be or become @$$holes. LOL!!!! Dealers or Not!!! LOL!!!

You throw in a lite sabre so I can pull it out and slice through every zx10 I see and you so got a deal! lol

Thanks for your enlightened (and empassioned) views and reasoning about Suzuki's future intentions. `Twas merely posted as information from a credible, Suzuki Racing Team professional. Of course he could be wrong. I personally have no idea what Suzuki might do but I'm glad some of you do. That probably means I'm in good company here.
