Ok, got out to the track tonite.. Great night, got 8 passes in.

First things first, tried things different launching the bike tonite. Coming off the clutch a whole lot faster, and not slipping it so much.
The results were amazing!!!

My passes were as follows...

10.341 @ 138.20 (1.797 60')
10.225 @ 138.40 (1.740 60')
10.132 @ 138.77 (1.689 60')
10.188 @ 139.26 (1.741 60')
10.172 @ 139.18 (1.743 60')
10.169 @ 138.90 (1.707 60')
10.156 @ 138.46 (1.690 60')
10.240 @ 138.68 (1.754 60')

So seeing that the last time I was out the best was 10.559 @ 134.73 I guess everyone here was 100% correct... It's all in the 60'!!!!!
Last time I was trying to slip the clutch alot, and it was causing all kinds of problems, this time... 5500 rpms, and get off the clutch quick and got the throttle wide open...

I don't know how much more I can get out of my bike at my weight... I honestly think it'll need parts to get into the 9's...
But I feel i'm progressing nicely...

I appreciate all the tips, and advice i've gotten on this forum!!!!!!

Heres the full breakdown of my best run..

1.689 60'
4.392 330'
6.596 1/8th @ 111.83
8.510 1000'
10.132 @ 138.77

I pretty much launched all night at 5000-5500 and shifted at 11,000 on the tach....

It's always a lot of fun to run your new best! Eventually you will be happy just to pick up .02. Remind us what your bike is, gearing, etc and what you weigh. Even a short wheelbase bike can run a low 1.6 or high 1.5's without a whole lot of mods. That would put you dangerously close to the 9's.

Bike is an 06, it's lowered, strapped, and has a 16 tooth front sprocket... Other than that completely stock..
Bike weighed 775 Lbs with me on it...

When the weather gets down in the 50s you might see that 9, I was running 6.11-12-13 went to the track on ah cool night night (51-52degs) and it went 5.98 three passes in a row on the same set up.

Nicely done!!!!!!!:beerchug::beerchug: Keep it up! Like Dennis says, yes we get excited even when we see a .02 improvement!

Bruno killer work!!

My buddy went 9.96@138 weighing 785. He cut a high 1.5 60ft and was stretched. Other then that same mods as you.

If you can't get your 60ft down you will need power.. Colder will work.

Here is my 9sec break down

Again killer job

 keep at it,try leaving with a little more rpm and same way with clutch sixty ft will drop, so will et..try adding 500 rpm at a time and see if it gets better

You can do it, just keep practicing!

I did the same thing with my '03 model. You have a great 60' but you've got to work the clutch/throttle more. Your 330' and 1/8 will come down when you start pushing it more. Check out one of my old threads from years ago for more tips/info. ;)

If you want a 9.99 you WILL DO IT! :beerchug:

*EDIT* Here is my thread from many years ago... https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/1-4-mile/5882-back-track-9-s.html

Nice improvements:beerchug:
A 1.68 60' time for a 2" lowered strapped 220lb rider is good.
Keep practicing and you should be down in the low 1.60's which will bring in the low 10.0's and possibly a high 9.
When you get to the point of 10.03' 10.02's etc. you can do some tricks that dont cost a dime for an extra .05
1) remove the mirrors
2) clean all the lube from your chain with kerosene, I mean really clean white glove.. spray a super thin coat of REM-Oil on your chain, and make sure you have your chain adjusted properly not to loose nor to tight and the best way to test this is sit on the bike and reach under the chain you should have to use some force to pull the chain up touching the chain guide / rubber block under the swingarm near the foot peg..

These are just a few tricks that dont cost a dime and are fairly cheap to get an extra MPH and drop your ET. Thats all I am giving away for now.. And you should see a 9.9XX on your timer slip. Good luck!
