NEED INPUT and ADVICE

Hi to everyone on the site. new busa owner (2005) and new to the ORG. i am thinking of lowering the busa front and back and i was needing input of what style i should go with. :banghead: i have found two different styles for the front and back,

Roaring Toyz and Soupys are both good quality and have great range. Unless you're slamming the bike, I would opt for risers vs. the top clamp. Risers are only around $20 and lower the front 1 1/2". Are you drag racing the bike ? Slamming the big girl for the streets has negatives. You'll drag bottom and damage the pipes, and you'll drag hard parts a lot sooner and decrease your ability to corner. Best of luck.

If you're dragging the bike only you can do lots of things to the bike. Shorten the forks, change the rake, strapping is cheap and easy and can be undone. You can also cut three to four inches off the frame under the front seat and lower yourself in the bike.

thanx for the replies. im doing it for the look. im not an aggressive rider at all. i dont lean hard in curves. i just like the look. ive stretched it 6 inches in the back and i wanted to lower it about 2 in the back and 1 in the front. let me know what you all think.

Go with risers on the front. Very easy to install and undo, only about $20 the last time I checked. Either the RoaringToyz or Soupy links will work in the rear. You can actually go to the local hardware store and do the front cheaper.

Four bolts that are longer than the factory bolts that go through the top clamp and a couple stacks of large washers. You install that to elevate the top clamp 1 + inches. Then once the top clamp is elevated you loosen the fork clamps and let the big girl lower herself to the top clamp and tighten things back down. If you exceed 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inches you'll start having cable length issues, so don't. Also your front brake will grab if you lock hard left. So just be warned. The front brake lever will make contact with the body. The only time this happens is when you're moving the bike around, If you lock the steering in normal riding you've probably had a bad day anyway.

+1, and go with the adjustable links in the rear.
You'll be able to get the exact height you want that way.

Dad of three is talking about spacers and longer bolts for lowering the front on the cheap too.
I raised my bars this way for comfort(old pic, bars changed now), but I could have slid the forks up in the triple clamps had I wanted to lower it.
The spacers were cut and drilled on a lathe, but you may be able to find something to work cheaper. You can aslo buy this kind of setup for around $20. A full spacer for a cleaner look is around $100.:beerchug:
