hey i am new to the forums havent bought a bike yet but i am in a rush to find 1. I have been looking and i found 1 with 27000miles on it how i no thats pretty high, but the owner works as a tech at a local bike shop and of course its a screamin deal now my question is ultimately i would like to boost the motor so would it be okie to buy the high mileage since u have to upgrade the internals or should i scrap the idea and find sumthing with lower mileage?
thx

I wouldn't be afraid of that kind of mileage if I knew the history of the bike. There are LOTS of forum members on here with three times that many or more and still going strong without ever having a problem.

TAKE YOUR TIME, PATIENCE IS IMPORTANT IN MAKING THE BEST/RIGHT DEAL. 27,000 IS BARELY BROKEN IN. GOOD LUCK

Someones hurting or scamming. Anyway to your first question ask a mechanic and not the guy you're looking to buy from if that's high for a turbo. I have heard builders mention mileage. The Gen I Busa motor will handle 300 HP and as far as I know you will not make that with a stage 1 turbo. More like 220 to 250. If you go stage 2 you might need some work.

Anyway, I don't know my arse from a hole in the ground about turbos, but there's some guys on here that do. So wait and see what they have to say.

+1
Stock gen 1 will handle more boost than stock gen2 plus make a few extra hp. After about 250hp you better start doing some motor work. Head, pistons, connecting rod are are must. Thats a definate with a stage 2 setup.
It doesnt matter what year of gen motor it is they are all the same, just weird that the bike has 2 different years going on there.
