Need help asap, please!!!! IN the middle of install

I'm installing my Hid low beam kit, and I'm trying to figure out which wire on the harness is positive and which is negative. There a black with a white stripe and a white. WTF??? Why can't it just be red and black.

Black,with the white strip to black, and red to the colored wire!
