ok soon(w/in the next week or so) i shall be purchasing my first bike a sv650s and i was wonderin since it is stock from your opinions what mods are must haves to improve and are easy to do

SS brake lines / After market bake pads
Suspension tuning for your weight

Those are probably 2 of the most overlooked things but make the biggest improvement in the overall safety and performance of your bike.

+1 but mostly keep it stock.
It'll retain it's resale value better for a smaller bike, most prefer used bikes that haven't been f....d with to much and keep all maintenance records and maintain it well.

Dude, save your $$$$ !!!! You're probably only going to have that bike for a little while, then you're going to want more BANG !! Like said above you'll most likely get more for an all stock bike ?? Then on your next bike (most likely a Busa, is there anything else), mod away !!!

Don't bother with mods on this bike, ride it, get bored with it, sell it, GET A BUSA, then will talk

+1 frame sliders!

Leave it pretty much stock! Is much safer for you to learn. Brake lines and pads aren't really that important for the learning process. If bike need new brake pads then replace them with good ones. As the old saying goes "Don't fix what ain't broken!"

Not sure on the 650,but maybe drill out the exhaust for better sound?

Be safe and glad to see you starting out on something that you will learn faster on. Drop or two bound to happen and you'll be happier you doing it on a 650. Hence the frame sliders.

Don't get a hot semi-naked girl! It will only distract you! But on positive side it will keep your mileage down for resale!

The board is dropping the ball.
FIRST MODS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
HELMET
JACKET
BOOTS
GLOVES
PANTS

Just ride it for a year and figure out how you ride, then mod accordingly. For example there is no reason to put clip-ons on and +1 links on if you are primarily sport touring. Good luck and have fun.

Shame on you .org family for not getting on the gear police thing.

1st mod, remove reflectors, 2nd mod, remove mudflap, 3rd mod, remove tank stickers and sticker on inners. Then Double bubble windscreen, HID, Throttlemeister, fairing screens, undertail, 4-2-1 exhaust, pair valve mod, PC3 usb, stainless steel brake lines, EBC HH brake pads, Tobin seats, Billet lowering triple tree clamp, Adjustable dog bones...Once you start it never ever ends. These bikes are like crack.

First mod: Learn to ride and take the safety class. Second mod: Get all the gear, not just a helmet. If you dont you might not see your second bike. And for the end of my lecture, Be safe and just enjoy the ride, your about to be part of a brotherhood it doesn't matter what your bike looks like just have fun.
